One of the many ‘creepy’ things about the Obama cult following is how much it would appear to mirror that type of sycophantic response we Christians expect from the world populace when the Anti-Christ appears on the scene. Now before readers start screaming at me, please note that I am NOT calling President Obama the Anti-Christ. I would not do so without what I would consider ironclad biblical evidence. What I am saying though is that the way people have evidently en-masses agreed that this man is worthy of the type of hyperbole that I have not witnessed ever being afforded to another human being is quite astonishing and to me very revealing about the readiness of our world for the character that the Bible predicts will deceive many, so much so that they will swear their eternal allegiance to him. Here are a few items of scripture to illustrate the point:
I have underlined above the type of descriptors in these biblical passages that would cause a sizeable world audience to be galvanized en-masse behind such a leader. Now President Obama or even Senator Obama (before that) has not done anything tangible that would in and of itself elicited such an outpouring of the kind of public adulation that at the extremes borders on worship, but to the extent that people are acting in the way that they are, you can certainly see the capability for an Anti-Christ figure to rise up with the “rubber stamp” of the majority of our populace. It is both scary and amazing.
Disclaimer: I am NOT suggesting that all supporters of Barack Obama would necessarily support the anti-Christ when he comes on the scene.
- Jesus told them, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many. (Matthew 2:4-5)
- For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones. (Matthew 24:24)
- He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call god and every object of worship. (2 Thessalonians 2:4)
- ...he can be revealed only when his time comes. (2 Thessalonians 2:6)
- This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. (2 Thessalonians 2:9)
- He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. (2 Thessalonians 10-11)
- They (the populace) worshiped the dragon for giving the beast (the anti-Christ) such power, and they also worshiped the beast. “Who is as great as the beast?” they exclaimed. “Who is able to fight against him?” (Revelation 13:4 - parenthesis mine)
