The Global Warming Religion Exposed

So it is with no surprise that I greet the news that the lies of the Global Warming crowd have been uncovered. This has occurred by way of a hacking of the computers of an organization in England which contains the central data repository used by proponents of this “religion”. It is clear from the information revealed that data has been manipulated and a full effort organized to suppress all dissent by those who have been skeptical of the claims that the Earth’s temperature is rising, caused by man-made events. What a shock! Another man-made religion discovered to be held together by fraud, deceit, manipulation and willful ignorance on the part of a world of people who simply “want a better planet” in which to live.

Newsflash: the world is not going to get better because of man-made effort. As the Bible states “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? (Jeremiah 17:8 NIV). It is admirable to want to see the evil of this world at an end, but it won’t happen through human effort. It will happen though…through the person of Jesus Christ. That is why Jesus was sent into the world to live the only sinless life that was ever lived…and to be put to death by His own creation. To die and then to give us a chance to experience “the better planet” for which we all yearn. About this the Bible states: For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end... (Isaiah 9:6-7 NIV)

Oh there will indeed be a better planet, but it will only come with Jesus as the central government and authority. You can easily sign up to live there by admitting your need for Him and repenting of your sins for which He died. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans 10:9-13 NLT)

But you do have free will. If this “better place” is not for you, then no need for you to do anything different. Just continue to live your life as you have been living.

Ignore God and Decrease Your Birth Rates

I read a very interesting article yesterday in the New York Times on the topic of the shrinking birth rate in Europe over the past few decades. The article outlines the demographic danger facing Europe with the high likelihood that several countries (Italy, Spain and Germany among others) will see their native populations decrease by up to 40% by 2050. According to the article, the replacement birth rate necessary to maintain an equal population size from generation to generation is 2.1 children born to each woman. In Europe according to the article the rate is well below 2.0, with some countries closer to 1.5 and dropping. It is a lengthy and very interesting read that sheds some light on a phenomenon that in all likelihood will reshape the face of Western Europe within 100 years. The interesting thing about the article is that it was published after extensive research and interviews with many experts and it offers various possible explanations for why this situation has developed....

Funerals for the Unsaved or Unbelievers

I am not a leader of a church, but I oftentimes wonder how does one lead a funeral service for someone who dies without knowing Jesus Christ as Lord ? Admittedly I have not been to many funerals in my lifetime, though they are appearing to come more frequently lately, but the fact is that funerals are held daily throughout the world and as such this is a pertinent question to someone just about every day. I’ve been to the funeral where the person lived a fairly routine life, taking care of their families and other responsibilities as best they could, paying taxes and doing the average things that we as human beings do on a consistent basis. They however had no visible relationship with God through His son Jesus Christ. When this person dies, the surviving family members are oftentimes left scrambling trying to find a person and a place to officiate the funeral services – generally because the deceased did not have a regular church that they attended. The subject of Atheism has been quite popular in the literary mainstream over the past few years, as “Atheists as Celebrity” Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins and others have enriched themselves with self important intellectual books, talk shows and other benefits of our enlightened society. That there are people who willfully claim a disbelief in God is nothing new. That it has become so militant, with legion of sycophants worshipping at their feet may very well be. Or it could simply be another case of the Internet making something seem far more widespread because we now know more about it. Whatever the case, I always find it interesting to read the comments of people on the subject of whether or not there is a God.
